USask’s Poelzer named to Senate advisory board
An internationally renowned researcher at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) has been named to the Independent Advisory Board for Senate appointments.
Dr. Greg Poelzer (PhD), a professor in USask’s School of Environment and Sustainability (SENS) and a Fulbright Artic Initiative Scholar, is one of three new members who have been named to the board, which provides the federal government with merit-based recommendations for Senate appointments to ensure a high standard of integrity and collaboration.
Poelzer is the research lead of the USask-led International Renewable Energy in Remote and Indigenous Communities program and a former USask political studies professor who now focuses on northern and Indigenous issues, particularly renewable energy initiatives. Poelzer is also the founding director and executive chair of the USask International Centre for Northern Governance and Development.
